Overview
In January 1997, Alchemy was formed in London with a focus on private equity and distressed investing.
Since inception the firm has invested £2.7bn in over 135 transactions. Investments have been made across Europe into a broad range of sectors and throughout capital structures.
The team currently advises over £800m of assets held in the Alchemy Investment Plan and manages over £700m of assets in the Alchemy Special Opportunities funds. Alchemy is currently investing from its £500m Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund II, raised in March 2011.
In 2007, Alchemy entered into a joint venture with emerging markets fund manager Ashmore Investments (UK) Limited for an Indian Development Capital Fund which is advised by a team based in Mumbai.
